His Highness Prince Maximilian was born as the second child of His Highness Prince Hans-Adam II. and Her Highness Princess Marie von und zu Liechtenstein on 16th May 1969 in St. Gallen. He grew up in Vaduz together with his siblings Prince Inheritor Alois, Prince Constantin and Princess Tatjana.
After completion of primary school in Vaduz, he entered the Liechtenstein Gymnasium, from which he received the A-level certificate in 1988.


After that Prince Maximilian worked for a year in various operations of the Prince of Liechtenstein Foundation in the finance institute, forestry and real estate sectors. In 1989 he began his course of studies at the European Business School in Frankfurt, from which he successfully graduated in 1993. During his course of studies he completed one semester each in London and Buenos Aires, as well as traineeships at James D. Wolfensohn, News Corporation and Bain & Company. From October 1993 to June 1996 Prince Maximilian worked at Chase Capital Partners in New York, an international venture capital company.
In January 1997 Prince Maximilian continued his academic education at the Harvard Business School in Boston, which he completed with a «Master of Business Administration» diploma in June 1998.
Prince Maximilian has worked in Hamburg as well as in London for Industrie Kapital, one of the leading venture capital companies in Europe, since September 1998. His Highness Prince Maximilian von und zu Liechtenstein married Miss Angela Brown on 29th January 2000. The couple has one son, Prince Alfons Constantin Maria, born on 18th May 2001.
