Mauren lies on the eastern slope of the Eschner Mountain,
nestled between seven hills in a sunny, mild location

The hamlet Schaanwald, which is located on the main road to Feldkirch, belongs to Mauren politically and ecclesiastically. Mauren can take pleasure in a good economic situation, possesses an attractive village centre, radiates openness and is also the starting point for beautiful hikes.

The single-minded and courageous ideas of the Mauren municipal authorities -
which are always developed by including young and old - characterise the village image. And so considerable attention is always attached to the active village arrangement of Mauren and Schaanwald. The citizens of Mauren are quite particularly proud of the «Weiherring» leisure centre. Emerging from the «MURA» project, the municipal authorities were able to create a place of communication within the shortest possible time. In particular, families with children are happy about the many possibilities which the Mauren leisure centre offers.

The heart of the facility is a pavilion, and a half-pipe facility, a boccia court, a football pitch and a beach volleyball court were constructed around it. The leisure park is a popular meeting place. Cultural events and festivals are held here; it is a splendid place which invites visitors to enjoy a picnic or barbecue.

the municipality of Mauren-Schaanwald has a total of over 70 clubs.

The municipality of Mauren has undertaken quite a bit for leisure time and recreation. An abundance of offers are available: The Birka bird paradise, a nature trail, high-altitude trails, marsh landscape, the «Gopfaböhel Plateau». The future of Mauren lies in retaining and fostering the strengths and the admirable cohesion of the population.
