Municipality of Gamprin
with Director Donath Oehri

Things are happening in Gamprin-Bendern!

Gamprin-Bendern is one of the three double municipalities of the Lowlands and has ca. 1’400 inhabitants. As a result of its natural landscape, the village offers inhabitants a high quality of life and enjoys considerable popularity.

Gamprin-Bendern has visibly changed quite a few things and developed positively in recent years. The infrastructure of the municipal works and the roads have been extensively updated. The parsonage and the parish church have been renovated. In 2001 the local club was able to move into the clubhouse erected just for them, and the expansion of the municipal townhouse was completed at the end of 2003.

The municipality has provided itself with a new appearance, a new landmark as it were. Gamprin-Bendern can describe itself as the principality’s water municipality; proof of this: The location of the lowlands’ water supply and the «ARA» (sewage treatment plant) of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Gamprin «Seelein» («small lake»), as well as the renaturalised Rhine River floodplains, the Rhine River, the canal, the Esche and watershed trenches flow through or affect the municipality.

The Rhine’s wave band is visible on the official municipal coat of arms (and has thus gained significance). The municipality’s new picture reduces this wave band to two moving waves which symbolise the water on the one hand and the motion and dynamic on the other hand.

Other director projects such as the construction of a school and a leisure centre are in progress. A buoyant club life, beautiful hiking trails, forests, meadows and the Lourdes Grotto - known far beyond local boundaries - invite visitors to spend a part of their free time or to regenerate their body and soul.
